The Calvert Street Parking Structure showcases the design possibilities available with precast. Utilizing a mix of highly articulated thin-brick and architectural precast elements, The Shockey Precast Group delivered a parking structure that blends seamlessly with the surrounding historic Annapolis architecture. The façade’s design called for two colors of thin brick in standard running or Flemsh bond coursing. The presence of highly articulated, ornate cornice and sill details of architectural precast presented additional challenges. The Calvert Street Parking Structure won the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) 2007 Best Public Sector Building Project Over $15 million category.
