VA Operations Manager joined Shockey Precast in 1987, answering a help-wanted ad in the local newspaper. He started as a laborer in the precast plant and a few years later, was transferred to Quality Control. In 1996, he was promoted to Foreman in charge of the Yard operations. Throughout his 35-year career with Shockey Precast, Jeff has managed several departments, including purchasing and material operations for Shockey Precast’s Winchester and Fredericksburg plants. He was offered the position of Plant Manager for the Winchester location in 2008 and served in that role until 2010, when he was asked to open a satellite plant in Utah for a special project. When he returned in 2012, he assumed management of the Fredericksburg plant as well. Following Metromont’s acquisition of Shockey Precast in 2018, Jeff took on his current role of Virginia Operations Manager over both the Winchester and Richmond plants. “Since my first day in 1987 until today, I’ve never had two days that were the same. I greatly enjoy the team atmosphere that was part of the Shockey Precast culture and has continued with Metromont. I can’t imagine working in any industry other than precast!”
