Chris Gray grew up in Winchester, Virginia, and knew he wanted to return after college to be close to family and friends. With a degree in structural engineering and a desire to work for a family-owned company, Chris found the right opportunity to build a career at Shockey Precast. He started as a design engineer, designing under one of Shockey Precast’s stamping engineers until he received his own engineering license. Earning his designation as a professional engineer created new opportunities for his career, and Chris soon began taking on management roles within his assigned projects. His drive and hard work eventually led to his current role as Engineering Project Manager. “This is every structural engineer’s dream – to see their designs come to life in such a short time span. My role as an Engineering Project Manager at Shockey Precast is exactly what I was striving for after graduating from VMI. I’m proud to say I’ve achieved my goal with plenty of room for advancement within the company.”
