Metromont and Shockey Precast congratulate VP/GM Chris Pastorius as the recipient of the 2023 Mario J. Bertolini Leadership & Innovation Award. The award recognizes a Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) producer member who has demonstrated an outstanding ability in the management of precast concrete operations and in support of PCI and the precast concrete industry while exhibiting Bertolini’s personal/professional traits. Chris was presented the award by PCI President Bob Risser at the 2023 PCI Convention recently held in Columbus, Ohio.
Chris has been working in the precast concrete industry since 1985 and joined Metromont in 2011. After two years in Greenville, he relocated to Richmond, VA, to be vice president and general manager for the Richmond plant. When Metromont purchased Shockey Precast in 2018, Chris took on the role of vice president and general manager of both the Richmond and Winchester, Virginia operations.
Chris has served as a board member and chair of the Precast Concrete Association of Pennsylvania and was a member of the PCI Board of Directors from 2008 to 2016, serving as the chair in 2015. He was a PCI Foundation Board member for several years, serving as chair of the Board of Trustees in 2021 and 2022. Chris also served on the PCI Fellow Nominating Committee, Medal of Honor and Awards Policy 26 Task Group. In addition to his service with PCI, Chris was on the board of the Altus Group for eight years and was the chair of the Altus Group board from 2008 to 2010.
