Washington Nationals Parking Garages

The design-build nature of the Washington Nationals Parking Garages project translated into significant estimating, design, schedule, and coordination challenges, but these were issues The Shockey Precast Group was determined to work through to help the owner construct the high-profile project and meet an aggressive completion date. Recruited as a design-build partner by Desman & Associates, Shockey’s coordination efforts included development of the drawings and matching the parking structures’ finishes to those of the ballpark. Architectural design features included complex reveals and two sandblast patterns. Total precast erection time for both garages was six months, and the project was completed in time for opening day of the Washington Nationals MLB season.
