M&T Bank Stadium

Baltimore, MD
ARCHITECT:
HOK Sport
CONTRACTOR:
The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company

Project Overview

With an estimated cost of $220 million, M&T Bank Stadium has 119 suites, 8,196 club seats, and stands 185 feet tall. The project was completed in less than two years, and was funded through a combination of proceeds generated from the sale of tax-exempt revenue bonds, debt service paid by Maryland Lottery proceeds, and the Baltimore Ravens. Challenges for The Shockey Precast Group included the sheer volume of trade coordination and design development, erecting of precast pieces at night, and hauling of the huge triple risers.

"The precast concrete design was able to meet the stringent performance requirements of the structure while providing an aesthetically pleasing, sustainable final product at an affordable price point."

"Metromont’s team embraced our idea and got their whole team on board. It’s one thing for sales managers to want to make architects happy, but to have the plant manager, the finishing crew foreman and engineers fully engaged is something else. Metromont was extremely cooperative – the project was a win-win for everyone.”
